Flat mount prints

Here your print is mounted to black or white foam board and trimmed to the edge of the image or image border. The interior of the black or white foam core will be visible on the edges unless you insert it into a frame. There are several great ways to display Flat mount prints.

Picture wall

Borderless photos printed on matte paper in the 8x10 to 16x20 size range look great when attached directly to the wall in a group (see example below). A good way to do this is to screw some wood strips to the wall and attach the prints to them so the prints stand out from the wall.  The prints are fastened using hook-loop "coins" that we provide. These can be removed from the wall usually without damaging paint in case you ever want to remove the pictures. We suggest a uniform print size and will give you a uniform placement of coin fasteners.  This way you can easily change out one or more pictures if you want to display new ones. We provide detailed instructions for making your picture wall.

Ready to frame

You can purchase a frame at a local store beforehand and order your flat mount print to a size that will fit. For the best viewing experience we recommend that you use neither the mat nor the glass. If you want a mat-look border, we can print one for you.

Self-standing display

For small prints we will place a folding stand on the back so the print will stand on a horizontal surface. You can select this option at checkout.

Refrigerator print

For small prints we will place a magnet on the back so you can place the print on a refrigerator or other iron metal surface. You can select this option at checkout.

Make sure your image fits on the print To obtain the largest print for the lowest price, be sure to select “crop to chosen size” on the options page or, if you don't want any cropping, follow these steps to compute the dimensions for gallery wrap with the image on the sides: Choose the small dimension. Compute the large dimension: Multiply small dimension by the ratio of the pixel dimensions of the digital image (1.5 for uncropped SLR image).  ?  Add custom size to table After you enter dimensions and click on “go”, the price will be displayed and can be added to the table for comparison with other sizes. When you are happy with an entry in the table, select that one by clicking on the “Choose options” button. Decimal inches You can enter sizes as fractions of an inch. For example, for 12 and a half inches, enter 12.5, for 16 and three quarters enter 16.75. The resulting print size will be accurate to within a quarter of an inch.  ?  The maximum size is 31.5x39.5 inches. To order a custom size, first add to table then choose options.
